I think it would be even better if they came out with a new and improved one. I have two of them for my dremel. I think there the best tool attachment. It worked fine but when you attach it to the Dremel tool you end up with a tool that is quite high and a little awkward. If you plan to use this attachment a lot, you should first consider a full size jigsaw. Also, this attachment only works with the Dremel 400 XPR. I think you could buy a full size jigsaw for less than buying the 400 XPR with the MultiSaw attachment. However, Dremel makes a small planer for use with the 400 XPR that is quite handy. So, if you were going to buy a 400 XPR, the MultiSaw attachment and the planer would be reasonable additions. Also, I think Dremel made a mistake by making attachments that only work with one model of tools. By doing so, they are missing a big piece of their own market by not designing an attachment that will work with all of their tools. If this attachment worked on all of the Dremel tools I would have rated it with 4 stars. Now don't be a dingbat like me and leave the collet in. Other than that the vertical fit is a little awkward but I was able to make my cuts. The only reason I give this attachment 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that it comes with only one blade. Usually dremel packs back-ups with their products. I wonder why not here? But 2 gray plastic tabs at the saw's connection point prevent it from seating well. Ironically, you could use your Dremel to grind off the tabs and get a better connection to your non-XPR Dremel tool. But I am returning my MultiSaw because Dremel is telling me in multiple ways that it's not a good idea. Maybe it's overload issue.who knows?

Nice that Amazon returns are super easy.Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1 In order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. Select one of five depth levels on the tool and start engraving. Dremel multitool: For fine engraving use a diamond wheel point accessory. There are 7 different sizes and shapes. When filling in a design we suggest the use of Silicon Carbide Grinding Stones which are available in 6 different sizes and shapes. For further information about our products above please go to accessories section at www.dremeleurope.com We also have a list with Online dealers. The runtime of a cordless tool depends on the battery type (NiCad or Li-ion), the type of application (e.g. light polishing or heavy cutting) and the tool model (Stylus,7700, 8000 and 8200). We have designed our tools in such a way that the average battery life of each tool is matched with the most frequent type of applications for each model.

Each of these system elements are very important in not only providing a very diverse opportunity of applications, but assures that your project can be completed quickly and easily The Dremel 8200 12VMax Lithium-Ion Cordless, however, delivers the same speed and performance as a corded rotary tool! This means that the tool will always be charged and ready when you need it. For example, if you let a Ni-Cd battery sit for 4 months it will have lost its entire charge. If you let a lithium ion battery sit for 4 months, it will have over 85% of its original charge remaining. b. Lithium ion batteries have no memory effects. Standard Ni-Cd batteries must be fully drained before recharging, otherwise they start to experience shorter run times. Lithium-Ion batteries can be recharged at any time without ever damaging the original charge capacity or run time. c. Lithium ion batteries are light weight. The ergonomic design, comfort grip housing, and lightweight design of this tool all help deliver an extremely comfortable tool. The accessories likely to fall into that category are: high-speed cutters, router bits and cut-off wheels. These accessories will work at lower speeds, but not as well. The battery packs are designed to work with the appropriate tool and charger. It accepts only about 80% of its maximum charge capacity with its first charge, or, after prolonged storage, it will also require additional time on the first charge. However, after several charge and discharge cycles, the batteries should be up to full charge capacity and delivering maximum performance. We do recommend that you leave the battery discharged during prolonged periods of nonuse. Run the battery down completely prior to recharge. Don't leave the battery in the charger constantly. Once the battery is charged, remove it from the charger. The run time on the battery is a little different. Different speeds mean the battery could easily run down faster on the higher speeds.

Other factors that will affect the run time are going to be the force put on the tool and the overall load of the work. Under simple grinding applications, a low speed can last up to 30 minutes. On high speed, it is about half that. If carving through a piece of wood with a high-speed cutter, expect the run time to be less. That's a tougher application and the charge will wear down more quickly. If your battery is not accepting a charge, we would recommend sending the tool, the battery, and the charger in to us. We’ll evaluate all three pieces and help resolve your problem as quickly as possible. That takes the guess work out of it. It will be minimal. Place it in the tool and let it discharge completely. Then charge it for a full 24 hours. After the full 24-hour charge, place the battery in the tool and discharge it again, completely. Now recharge the battery for three hours. The battery should be fully charged. We do recommend that you always discharge the Ni-Cd batteries completely prior to recharging and then recharge for no less than 3 hours. The light on the Lithium-ion battery charger will turn off when the battery is fully charged. When the connection is broken, the light goes out. The light on the Lithium-ion battery charger turns off when the battery is fully charged. Is it okay to leave the battery charging?Unplugging the charger will extend the life expectancy of the charger and the battery pack. The heat is not good for the life of the battery For more information, call us at 1-800-437-3635. The 200-Series is the entry level dual speed Dremel multitool with which you can do basic DIY and hobby craft tasks. The 300-Series is the variable speed all-rounder and the 4000 is the top of the line high performance multitool with which you can use for the more demanding task. If you have an older Dremel tool or an older type of attachment, it might be that you need an adapter to connect the tool and attachment. You can see here if you need an adapter.

Adapters can be ordered via Dremel customer service. The motor brushes are located in the brush holder, under the brush doors on each side of the tool (please check your tool instruction manual for more details). The brushes should be checked every 50 hours the tool has been in use. If the brushes are shorter than 3mm, they need to be changed. This will seat the new motor brushes. It has more power, improved handling and it comes with the innovative EZ Twist nose cap. We have integrated the wrench in the nose cap of the tool so you do not need a separate wrench anymore when changing accessories. However, attachment models 212, 231 and 330 need a universal adapter which is available free from Dremel Customer service, 1-800-437-3635. The MultiSaw has a reciprocating action using any jigsaw blade on the market. These two attachments can ONLY be used on the Dremel 4000, 400 Series and 8200 rotary tools which offer the enhanced performance necessary to use the attachments effectively. The collet, a slim aluminum tube with small slots, holds the shank portion of the accessory and will be tightened inside the collet when you tighten the black collet nut on the end of the 300 Series rotary tool’s output shaft. Use the wrench, provided in your 300 Series rotary tool kit, if you cannot firmly tighten with your fingers. For harder work load applications (i.e. routing, tile cutting, etc.) please always use the wrench to assure proper tightening. They are considered maintenance-free parts. We do recommend taking compressed air to blow air through the front and rear air vents to get rid of any excess dust build up inside your 300 series tool. The motor brushes are located in the brush holder, under the brush doors on each side of the tool. The brushes should be checked every 50 hours of tool use. This will seat the new motor brushes. The best results generally happen when taking a less aggressive, more frequent pass.

Too much pressure on the spinning accessory and the work piece can damage the accessory and the work piece. If the accessory is not producing the desired result, we would recommend adjusting the speed, or trying an alternative accessory. The only results you will get are stripped screw heads. It’s better to use a cordless screw driver or the “old fashioned” hand screw driver. Reversing the direction of the rotary tool will make most of the accessories “in -effective”. Therefore, you only need to plug your rotary tool into a standard outlet or with an approved extension cord. Please consult your 300 Series Owners Safety and Operations Manual for further information. The 8000 and 8200 both have 10.8 volt rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery packs. The advantage of Lithium-Ion batteries is that they keep their electrical charge much longer and they do not have the so called “memory effect”, so you can charge the battery whenever you want. However, because the motor of the 8200 is bigger and the electronics are a bit more clever, the performance of the 8200 is higher than the 8000. Roughly, the all-round performance of the 8000 is the cordless equivalent of the corded Dremel 300-Series and the high performance 8200 is the equivalent of the corded Dremel 4000. We do recommend that for the Dremel 7700 you run the battery down prior to recharge. This way the battery keeps in optimal condition. The runtime of a cordless tool depends on the battery type (NiCd or Lithium-Ion), the type of application (e.g. light polishing or heavy cutting) and the tool model (Stylus, 8000 or 7700). We have designed our tools in such a way that the average battery life of each tool is matched with the most frequent type of applications for each model. The battery packs are designed to work with the appropriate tool and charger. This method eradicates the use of any additional tool or wrench. The accessories can be recognised by the SpeedClic logo.

SpeedClic assortment Your Dremel tool will have been supplied with the 3,2mm collet. If you purchase an accessory with a smaller shank you need to also purchase the proper collet size. The collets can be purchased as a set including all collet sizes or as individual collets. Multichuck: If you have the Multichuck (4486) you don’t need to use collets, the multichuck fits all Genuine Dremel accessories with shank sizes from 0,4 up to 3,4mm. It works like a regular drill chuck and you don’t need to tighten it more than hand tight. When the chuck cap is threaded onto the end of the tool, over the collet, the fingers of the collet (slots) close around the shank of the accessory and hold it into place. When should I start checking on them?Let the speed of the tool do the work. Forcing the tool does a couple of things; it forces the bit into more material than can be processed adequately and it creates even more heat than simply letting the tool move the accessory through the wood. Guide the tool through the design and work. Watch the depth. While forcing the tool may cause the accessory to burn, going too deep into the wood will not only cause the accessory to burn, it will smoke the wood as well. It is better to take a second conservative pass than it is to take so much that the accessory burns. It is often difficult to know what an accessory tolerance is, as it is impossible to know what the density and grain of a wood will be. If the grain is strong or sap is heavy in the wood, there will be even more heat than usual and an accessory could burn from the heat of the excess debris and trying to get through the material. Keep in mind that many router bits are actually constructed of tungsten carbide. These router bits are constructed of high-speed steel. They are not designed to rout on really hard or brittle material. It is critical to the life of the bit that the initial hole in the tile is made via a 45-degree angle. The glaze is tough, so it needs to be worn away.
